1060 aluminum strip for transformer winding is a regular semi-processed aluminum product. Its regular thickness ranges from 0.2mm to 2.5mm. It can be as narrow as 20mm and as wide as 1200mm. At O state, it reaches an elongation of 25% and above. In addition to 1060, other alloys like 1070, 1050 and 1350 are also used for transformer winding. All of these are 1000 series featured by high content of aluminum and low hardness. As a winding material, 1060 aluminum strip is soft enough at O temper. Its heat and electricity conductivity is not so high as that of copper, but the latter proves to be much more expensive. That makes 1060 alu strip the most popular winding material in transformer making industry.

At present, 1060 aluminium strip price lingers around 2500 dollars per metric ton. It’s applied in low or high voltage transformer winding for dry transformers, high frequency transformers and adjustable voltage transformers.
